Introduction to Encampment
Encampment Dates: July 12-19, 2025
Location: Marseilles Training Center (near Marseilles IL)
Cost: $250 per cadet

The 2025 Illinois Wing Summer Encampment is scheduled to be from Saturday, 12 July 2025, through Saturday, 19 July 2025, at the Marseilles Training Center (MTC) near Marseilles, IL. The MTC is an Army National Guard facility. If you have not attended an Encampment previously, you should plan to attend Encampment this summer! Completing a Civil Air Patrol Encampment is a prerequisite to earning CAP's General Billy Mitchell Award as well as being required to attend CAP National Cadet Special Activities (NCSA). In addition to gaining useful leadership experience and in-depth knowledge of the United States Air Force and Civil Air Patrol, you will meet cadets from Illinois Wing and other Wings and share in a week of learning, sports, team building, and social activities. Summer encampment is a challenging and rewarding experience. The following curriculums are what is available to cadets applying for encampment (specific details about each curriculum are located under the INFORMATION tab on the main page):
For cadets who have not yet completed an encampment:
- Basic - Basic encampment. This is for cadets who have not yet successfully completed any CAP encampment.
For cadets who have completed at least one encampment (by the time summer encampment starts):
- CLASS - Cadre Leadership and Analytical Skills School. This is for cadets who want to enhance their leadership skills and problem-solving abilities.
- Staff - This is for cadets who are interested in being on staff at encampment.
- Radio - Radio School. This is for cadets who would like to learn about and work with radios.
- PAO - This is for cadets who are interested in being on the encampment Public Affairs team.
Registration and payment for summer encampment will be accepted through e-services via the “Registration Zone” application. The fee for this year's encampment is $250.
